Makeup

I did this look for two days in a row. I really like that red-brown color. I used the Coastal Scents shimmer palette for eyeshadow and a brown eyeliner pencil just from Maybelline. I filled in my eyebrows with a light brown eyeliner pencil (from NYC, which is a cheap brand but it doesn't need to be great quality for filling in eyebrows, ha) and a light brown shadow (Maybelline) with a thin eyeliner brush. I find that mascara doesn't have to be really nice or expensive to work. It should be from a decent quality brand but don't spend too much money when you can achieve a similar look with a cheaper mascara. I would never buy a mascara over 8 dollars. I use Full 'N Soft from Maybelline. As long as an eyelash curler is used, it usually ends up looking pretty good. For lips I used a dark red, then layered it with a brighter red. The picture was not true to color though, sigh. It looks pink. No lip liner... I'll add that to my shopping list.

Falsies

False eyelashes can be really cool and create a unique and sometimes unusual look. I love them. They have been one of my latest favorite things to look up. Here are some cool ones I found.

Love them! But I have seen people make or use falsies that are trashy looking or just completely disgusting. For example:

Ahaha the captions for this picture and others like it say, "False eyelashes or feather dusters?" and "Quick blinking may result in unexpected lift-off."

The caption: "I remember almost laughing when these models came out wearing fake eyelashes that were big enough to be mistaken as fly swatters." Huh speaking of flies...

These are flylashes. Disgusting right? These false eyelashes are made from real fly legs. The caption? "The Most Disgusting False Eyelashes EVER - One Makeup Artist's Revolting Method." This is absolutely sick in so many ways. First, that is so unsanitary. Flies carry diseases and its not like they were cleaned before they were applied. How could you clean bug legs anyway? Plus is this supposed to look artsy? And where did she come up with this idea. And does she just catch and kill flies and then pluck their disease ridden legs off one by one? Where does she store them? Ew this is so sick. I'm going to finish this post, I'm sick of looking at this picture.

outfit/makeup of the day

*sorry if the picture quality isn't great; natural light does seem to help though.

Outfit:
shirt, pants, necklace: American Eagle
shoes: navy blue Vans

Makeup:
Eyes: for eyeliner, I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Mildew. Using a darker, matte green from the Coastal Scents eyeshadow palette, I smudged the color and gradually faded it out. I used black in the outer corner to give it depth and a cranberry, with a Sephora crease brush, in the crease. (All eyeshadow colors from the Coastal Scents palette.) For mascara, I used Covergirl Lashblast in very black, Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black in waterproof, and Loreal Telescopic in blackest black.
Rest of face: nothing.

Christmas :)

I got some pretty awesome things for Christmas this year and I thought I'd just post a few pictures of my favorites :)

Since me and my sister have been fighting everyday over a 15 year old curling iron that my mom used in high school, we both got one this year. Its an Instant Heat curler from Conair. It heats up in one minute where my moms old one takes 15 minutes to heat up. As Rhi said "You could do your makeup, get dressed, and go on a jog around the block, all before the curling iron was heated." Ahah its true. I also got a few nail polishes. From left to right: Electric from Revlon, Blue Streak from Sally Hansen, Black (with glitter which I love!) from Forever 21, and Ruby Pumps from China Glaze. I also got some jewelry. The owl one is from Rhi :). The elephant one is from Forever 21 and the flower one is from Claire's. My dad got me the Secret Wonderland lotion from Bath and Body Works. I picked it out. The lip shine in the green tube is also from there. I love it. It hasn't left my pocket since I got it, ha. And my mom bought me those pretty bobby pins. Bobby pins are becoming a new obsession of mine.

And my favorite gift out of all of them... :DDD Metal Mania 88 Palette from Coastal Scents. That completes my collection of 88 palettes ahah. (I also have the matte and shimmer palettes. I'll post pictures of all three later ahah.) Its beautiful! :)

Thats all for now... More to come!

Hello from Queen of the Fleas

Here is my intro and its going to be short so I can start posting pictures, ha. My name is Naomi. I am also a junior in high school. I am obsessed with makeup and although I have been told that I need to stop buying gorgeous eyeshadow or other beautiful things, I cant help it. But I see nothing wrong with spending money on things that make me happy. :) I like the idea of starting this blog but you will probably not see very many eye makeup tutorials from me cuz I'm weird about it ahah. But I love looking at pictures of makeup so I might post some of those. We'll see :). Its cool to finally start this blog. Hope you enjoy!

Hello from Rhi :)

(Naomi's introduction is on the way!)
Hi, my name is Rhiana. I'm a junior in high school who spends too much time in front of a mirror doing makeup and hair, or painting my nails (that doesn't involve the mirror so much though). One of my friends Naomi (her nickname is Flea, aptly given by myself- cute right?) and I wanted to start a blog about just that- beauty; whether it be hair, makeup or nails. For the time being, we'll probably just do picture "tutorials" and reviews as opposed to videos. (The first one is on the way after I finish writing this). We've never done anything like this before but thought it would be fun to share our passion with the world. (Or five people, either works.)

Until next time,

-Rhi
